Just three months after the 2022-23 campaign came to a close, the United Way’s 2023-24 fundraising campaign is now underway.
The campaign began Thursday night inside the Gufler Mansion with the annual kickoff and Emporia Area Chamber Business After Hours event. During the event, campaign drive chair Lynn Cunningham spoke with KVOE News and says she is excited about what’s to come over the next several months.
Cunningham tells KVOE she’s incredibly “passionate” about the work of the United Way and its community partners having utilized their services in the past.
Cunningham adds that she hopes anyone who can give to the campaign will do so over the next several months saying there is no donation too large or too small.
Donations to the campaign will go to assist more than 20 community partners across an eight-county service area.
Last year’s campaign managed to raise $435,100. For more information on the campaign or the work of the United Way visit Unitedwayoftheflinthills.org.
This year’s campaign kickoff comes as the United Way is still accepting applications for its United in Racial Equity grant program. The application deadline is September 1.
