Emporians have a chance to get a first look at two Emporia High teams Saturday.
At 9 a.m., the Emporia High football team will be holding a Powerade/Gatorade scrimmage. Admission is a pack of 20 oz bottles of Powerade or Gatorade.
Later in the day, you can check out the Emporia High boys soccer team with its Gatorade Scrimmage. Admission is free will donation of sports drinks. The junior varsity will scrimmage from 6:40 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. The varsity will scrimmage from 8 to 9 p.m.
Both will be held at the EHS Turf Field.
Emporia High’s football opener is two weeks from Friday as it hosts Pittsburg at Welch Stadium. Emporia High boys soccer kicks off its season one week from Friday as it hosts Shawnee Heights.
