24 community members are set to be a part of the next class of the Leadership Emporia Academy.
The Leadership Emporia Academy committee announced this year’s class on Tuesday.
Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jeanine McKenna says she’s excited to get going with the 36th class of the program.
The Leadership Emporia Academy provides learning through powerful experiences that provide skills, tools, conceptual frameworks, and ways of being consistent in collaborative and purposeful leadership approaches.
The academy is a part of an ongoing partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center. Leadership Emporia uses KLC’s curriculum and its five principles of leadership.
McKenna says it’s important to have this academy to help build leaders in the community.
McKenna says there are no differences to the class this year, however, Leadership Emporia has evaluated the class individually to their learning styles and needs.
Participants will meet for their opening retreat on September 21 and 22. The class will then meet every other Thursday for five sessions with a celebration luncheon set for December 8.
