Water service has been restored to residents on South Neosho following morning water main breaks in the area.
Both breaks in the 800 and 200 blocks of Neosho were reported shortly before 9 am Monday. The city of Emporia announced service had been restored to customers just before 1:20 pm, roughly four hours after the breaks were initially reported.
Additional details on the breaks, including the size of the lines, are currently pending .
12:37 pm: Water main break in 200 block of Neosho now impacting residents south of South Avenue
Neosho Street has two water main breaks in the repair process.
Initially, the city said a break in the 800 block was affecting residents while a break in the 200 block was not. Both breaks were reported shortly before 9 am.
The scope of the southern water main break was expanded shortly before 11 am. Residents along Neosho from Kansas to Randolph are now affected, as well as citizens on Kansas Avenue from South State to South Neosho.

Temperatures are a lot more pleasant than they were at any point in time last week, but Emporia’s waterline network has two breaks needing repair.
The city says there is a break in the 200 block of Neosho which is not affecting water service for nearby residents. A break in the 800 block of Neosho is affecting residents nearby from Seventh to 10th.
Additional details on both breaks are pending.
Separately, Emporia’s Ninth and West intersection had been closed after a water line break at that street junction three weeks ago, but the city says that intersection has now reopened.
