The KVOE listening area will have to contend with a third straight day of haze and smoke from wildfires well to our northwest.
Air quality levels gradually improved overnight, but they are still unhealthy for sensitive groups Friday morning, with PM2.5 particulate matter as the main culprit. Air quality levels have either been unhealthy for area groups or unhealthy in general since early Wednesday as the upper air flow continues to bring us smoke from wildfires in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Separately, some KVOE listeners got a bit of rain overnight. The KVOE studios had 0.15 inches of rain from showers and storms. Other rain totals:
*Emporia Municipal Airport: Nothing
*Deerbrook Addition: 0.10 inches
*10th and Weaver: 0.05 inches
*1100 block Constitution: 0.15 inches
More rain develops Sunday night through most of Monday, and temperatures could be in the 70s starting Monday and continuing most of next week.
If you have rain totals, message the Bluestem Farm and Ranch text line at 620-342-5863.
