A pair of Lyon County fire departments handled a grass fire that developed Friday afternoon.
Lyon County District 4, Emporia’s rural fire unit, and Allen-Admire went to Roads 310 and L after 5 pm. The fire burned about 20 acres and took roughly an hour to extinguish.
The fire originally started as a controlled burn but went out of control. No injuries were reported.
