All Veterans Tribute activities got off to an early start with the 20th annual fundraising golf tournament held Saturday at the Emporia Golf Course.
Navy veteran Don Bailey provided the national anthem before play began.
Longtime organizer Jesse Solis was grateful for the turnout — and for the positive attention the tournament brings to veterans.
Golf Course Manager Marcus Erkel was proud to have the course as the host site.
Twenty-four teams participated, meaning almost 100 people were involved. All proceeds benefit the American Legion Post 5, Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 1980 and 7957, Mexican-American Memorial and Ladies’ Auxiliary.
All Veterans Tribute Week is officially from Nov. 1-11.
