A scheduling conference is ahead for an Emporia man accused of rape in Douglas County.
Romeo Martinez will appear on Halloween as his case moves forward. This follows a bond modification hearing that led to Martinez living with his father in Emporia during the court proceedings with GPS ankle monitoring and several no-contact provisions for alleged victims or witnesses. It also follows approval of a defense motion for “investigative funds” due to Martinez’s financial situation.
Martinez faces one count of rape after an alleged incident this past December.
