The Lady Hornets stole set one but could not sustain their momentum in a 3-1 defeat to Central Missouri Friday night (23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15) at the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo. The Lady Hornets hit a blistering .306 in the first set with 13 kills against just two errors while forcing 6 attack errors from the Jennies. Central Missouri made the adjustment defensively and E-State hit just .107 over the last three sets. Sandora Sasaki poured in a career-high 20 kills for Emporia State and was the only Lady Hornet in double figures for the match. Anakaren Chavez led defensively with 13 digs while Brailee Bogle dished out 34 assists. Emporia State falls to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the MIAA. UCM improved to 6-5 and 3-0 in Association play. Emporia State returns to action Saturday night at Missouri Southern. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
