Three lightning delays and with the meet running behind, several members of the Emporia High cross country teams competed on their own Saturday in the Rim Rock Classic.
Emporia High was only able to field one team, which was the boys in the Crimson Division and finished 35th. Gideon Lowery was the top Spartan finishing in 57th place with a time of 17:50.
Daghyn True ran in the boys Gold Division race and finished 29th with a time of 16:27.50.
On the girls side, the Lady Spartans competed in the Crimson Division, Madison Evans finished 19th with a time of 20:38. Emma Beatty was 28th with a time of 21:03.90.
Emporia High will send a mixed group of runners to Winfield on Thursday.
