Emporia High had a banner weekend for its second Apella all-class reunion this past weekend.
Emporia High classes joined with Emporia Main Street for the weekend, which was the first to take place with classes already well underway as opposed to taking place between class years.
The high school opened its doors for tours, offering alums a chance to see the recent batch of renovations as part of the Building for the Future bond package. Emporia High alum Bev Long, Class of 1978, was part of the first class at the “new location.” She was pleased to get perspectives from fellow alums and current students.
Current high school senior Will Samuels was grateful for the responsibility of helping to show off the school.
Main Street should have data on Apella’s reach by mid-week. Main Street is now gearing up for Halloween activities, including haunted tours, trick-or-treating downtown and Dia de los Muertos.
