Fundraising continues for a Reading teenager hurt in a crash earlier this month.
Bryer Scales’ car was hit by Lyon County Deputy Benjamin Folks on US Highway 56 at Allen nearly two weeks ago as Folks was responding to what ultimately turned out to be a fatal crash further east on the highway. Scales was airlifted to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka after suffering serious injuries. Folks suffered potentially serious injuries and was taken to Newman Regional Health.
Friends have developed a wristband saying “We Support BS.” Wristbands are $3, with all donations going to Scales and his family to offset medical expenses. Residents can email Auriel Jenkins Fox, ajenkin1@g.emporia.edu, for more information. Fox tells KVOE News over 25 percent of the wristbands have already been sold.
GoFundMe pages continue generating funds for 44-year-old Linda Estrada and 39-year-old Amy Ford, both Emporia women who were found killed in eastern Colorado last week after being listed as missing for nearly two weeks.
