Emporia State women’s soccer was so good defensively, the MIAA had to award them twice this week. Defender Joanie Westcoat was named the MIAA Defender of the Week while Mackenzi Goen was Co-Goalkeeper of the Week. Westcoat won the award for the second time this season after playing every minute in two Lady Hornet shutout victories over the weekend against Rogers State and Northeastern State. Goen had five saves in the shutout win over NSU and helped combine for a shutout with two saves in the first half against Rogers State. Emporia State is on the road this week visiting Northwest Missouri. Kickoff is set at 3P.
