Hopkins Manufacturing continues its pattern of targeted business acquisition.
Hopkins has acquired Hayes Towing Electronics, a trailer brake control company headquartered in Arab, Alabama. Hopkins says the purchase complements its existing towing electrical business. Besides brake controls, Hayes also makes a variety of vehicle-specific harnesses to make installation of brake controls “plug-in simple.”
Distribution will transfer to Hopkins’ primary center in Edgerton. Manufacturing shifts to Hopkins’ towing manufacturing facility in Juarez, Mexico.
Hopkins has been based in Emporia since 1953 and says it is the top seller of towing electrical products, snow and ice tools, vehicle cleaning products and fluid management tools in North America.
