Juy trial is immediately ahead in a Lyon County attempted murder case.
Following a status hearing Wednesday, Judge Lee Fowler set Tuesday as the opening day for trial proceedings in the case against Logan Dale Casteel, accused of shooting Justin Smith in the 600 block of Road 160 almost exactly a year ago. Casteel has been charged with one attempted murder count throughout the court process in this case.
Trial is tentatively set to last through Thursday. Casteel is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
