The Emporia Symphony Orchestra is opening up its performance season Tuesday night with a Halloween-themed performance.
The annual Symphonic Kaleidoscope will be held inside Albert Taylor Hall beginning at 7:30 pm. Interim Conductor Riley Day says this year’s performance has been modeled after a Halloween classic, Frankenstein.
Day tells KVOE News he chose the Frankenstein motif in an effort to cross as many pieces off of his “musical bucket list” as possible.
Doors for the concert will open at 7 pm and costs $5 for adults and $4 for students.
Children 12 and under get in for free. Day is serving as the interim conductor for the entirety of this year’s season with the search for a permanent director underway following the departure of Ramiro Miranda.
Day will join KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday, October 20 to discuss his debut as conductor and preview the remainder of the performance season.
