Emporia State quarterback Braden Gleason was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year after throwing for 421 yards and four touchdowns in the Hornets’ 38-23 victory over Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle on Saturday at Welch Stadium. Gleason finished the game 42-for-49 on the way to his second 400-yard passing game of the year. Gleason now has 9,663 career passing yards and 10,582 yards of total offense. Gleason talked about the challenge that awaits Emporia State as they visit Central Missouri on Saturday.
Gleason also earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after throwing for over 400 yards in E-State’s season-opening win against Lincoln. The Hornets are ranked #24 in the NCAA Division II coaches poll after winning last week and will meet the #16 Mules in Warrensburg on Saturday.
