Housing, annexation and underground infrastructure are key points in the Emporia City Commission slate of meetings Wednesday.
Commissioners will start with an action meeting at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. On the agenda is a public hearing for establishing a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District for what’s being called the Lockwood Heights housing project involving 24 single-family homes along West Sixth west of Stratford.
Also on the agenda is an ordinance to annex property in the 1100 block of Kansas Highway 99 into the city limits, as well as votes to award the better than $4.2 million 24th and Prairie Street waterline improvement contract and a supplemental agreement for the project.
An ordinance to establish the Transient Guest Tax Advisory Board is also up for a vote.
For the study meeting to follow at City Conference Room 1 AB, commissioners will discuss the city “code of procedure,” as well as legislative policy, common consumption areas, adoption of the 2021 Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Code and the William Allen White Community Partnership.
