The spaces will remain the same, but the names will soon change at Flint Hills Technical College.
The college will be holding a naming ceremony Wednesday afternoon for various facilities on campus including the main campus building which will be renamed in honor of past FHTC President Richard Metcalf. Additionally, the college’s technology facility will be renamed in honor of past president Dr. Dean Hollenbeck with the construction building set to bare the name of former president Keith Stover.
Current FHTC President Dr. Caron Daugherty says the renaming of the facilities is meant to honor the past while also recognizing the work done by each former leader to push the college into the future.
The renaming ceremony will take place at the college from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. The renaming ceremony will serve as the unofficial lead into one of the college’s main signature events The Cut scheduled for 6 pm Thursday evening.
