The Lyon County Commission has expanded its spending authority through the remainder of the calendar year.
During the commission’s regular action meeting Thursday morning, commissioners approved republishing the county’s multi-year fund following a brief public hearing. The republishing increases the budget from $3.3 million to $4.1 million.
County Controller Dan Williams says the increase is a standard procedure that provides the county with “a little extra cushion” in spending through the remainder of the year.
In other business Thursday, commissioners received a presentation on potential add-ons to the county’s website Lyoncounty.org from Public Relations Director Vici Smith and IT Director Chuck Boyce. The add-ons aim at making the website more ADA compliant and accessible to all residents specifically those with hearing or vision impairments.
No action was taken on the item as Smith says she is still waiting for a few more quotes to come in. She tells KVOE News commissioners may likely revisit the item next week and once an agreement is in place with a vendor it could take up to 9 months to have all add-ons fully installed.
Separately Thursday, commissioners also held two executive sessions with no action taken. The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its weekly action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
