The two meetings for the Emporia Land Bank Board this month have been fruitful.
Following an executive session Friday morning, the board approved bidding on a house at 401 Oak up to $49,000. If the bid is approved by the seller, the Land Bank will have a formal vote to accept terms during its next meeting.
There were two items of note coming from the board’s meeting Oct. 11. Board members approved drafting a letter to the Emporia City Commission requesting the acquisition of Quaker Park, south of First and east of Sylvan, for an upcoming housing development. The board also approved committing $50,000 as local leverage for a Moderate Income Housing grant to rehab unspecified property.
