Over 30 vendors gathered at Flinthills Mall on Saturday for the sixth annual Back to Health: Interactive Fair.
Attendees could visit a variety of different booths, see demonstrations, play games, and enjoy refreshments.
Healthier Lyon County Grant Manager Daphne Mertens says the biggest takeaway she wanted attendees to take away from the event is the resources that are made available in Emporia.
Mertens says this is a big and important event to bring out local organizations to share what they’re doing in an event free of charge.
Emporia State University Health and Human Performance were on hand to gain valuable experience and community service.
Professor Jennifer Thomas says this event is going to help her students when they graduate and get ready to work professionally.
Mark DeJesus of Emporia Myofascial Care was also a part of the fair and was doing free 10-minute sessions so people could see how a myofascial massage feels.
This was the first Health Fest back in its traditional format since the COVID-19 pandemic. Prizes were also given away which included a Fitbit Versa 4 and a $100 Walmart gift card.
