The 3rd annual ‘Old School’ Haunted House put on by the Chase County Old School Development District is set for this weekend.
There are two opportunities to visit the haunted house which will be in the gym of the old school in Cottonwood Falls both on Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
If the haunted house doesn’t suit your needs, there will be a Mini Scare from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both nights.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 Segment Tuesday, organizer Lee Anne Coester says the haunted house will give attendees a good scare.
Coester says the event started three years ago when three high school boys pitched the idea and it went from there. New this year is a bonfire where attendees can gather around and make S’Mores.
The cost is $10 for the haunted house with the mini scare costing $5.
Proceeds and any donations will go towards roof repairs that have recently been done. Coester says it reached the point that repairs needed to be made. The non-profit organization is looking to raise the final $23,000 for the repairs after receiving a grant from the Loretto A. Langley Foundation and a discount from Easton Roofing Company which did the repairs.
