The Lebo volleyball team went 2-1 in pool play to advance to the semifinal bracket of the 2023 1A D1 State Volleyball Tournament at White Auditorium in Emporia on Friday. Lebo started play in Pool I on Friday morning with a straight-set victory over Bucklin 25-12, 25-17 in best-of-three action. After an hour break, the Wolves kept their winning streak going with a 25-15, 25-19 victory against Grainfield-Wheatland/Grinnell. Lebo then faced the other 2-0 team in Pool I and fell to Hanover 25-18, 25-22. Lebo will play Sharon Springs-Wallace County at 9:00 a.m. in the semifinals Saturday. The winner of that match advances to the best-of-three championship against the winner of Hanover and Beloit-St. John’s Tipton approximately 25 minutes after the semifinal. The loser will play the loser of the other semifinal match in the third-place consolation match.
