Extradition processes for Phillip Lieurance are on hold — at least for a week.
Attorney illnesses delayed a planned hearing Tuesday until 1:30 pm Nov. 7, according to Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman.
Lieurance is currently being held in several cases. The extradition counts accuse Lieurance of unlawfully leaving Colorado after the reported murders of fellow Emporians Linda Estrada and Amy Ford. Those charges indicate Colorado charges of Class 2 murder and tampering with a deceased human body, although court officials in Kiowa County, Colorado, have said formal charges have not been filed and will not be activated until Lieurance makes an official appearance before a Colorado judge.
Lieurance is also being held on aggravated battery and numerous other charges after his arrest Sept. 11 following an incident on the Kansas Turnpike — shortly after both Estrada and Ford were reported as missing. Both were later found dead near Eads, Colorado.
