Nearly a month after unspecified security issues took the Kansas Courts’ online system offline, the investigation continues into the incident — and the system remains unavailable for those who use it.
Judicial Administration Public Information Lisa Taylor tells KVOE News the state’s investigation, which has included the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and unnamed federal partners, is continuing. There is now an information page residents can access online that discusses how this incident affects the general public, attorneys and self-representing litigants. It also has a link to the list of news releases and it lists the affected systems.
This has shut down the eCourt case management system used by district courts to process cases and the District Court Public Access Portal used by the general public and the media for basic information about individual court cases. Other affected systems:
*Kansas Protection Order Portal
*Appellate Case Inquiry System
*Kansas attorney registration
*Kansas online marriage license application system
*Central Payment Center
As the investigation continues, attorneys and other court users can submit filings by fax or on paper.
