The Lyon County Game Warden’s Office is investigating an apparent deer poaching incident.
Warden Aaron Scheve tells KVOE News the alleged incident was reported Sunday on Road 260 between Roads C and D, or about four miles west-northwest of Americus. The buck’s head was cut off and the body was left behind. Scheve says the buck had actually been injured last year and lost a front leg.
Currently, there are no suspects or suspect vehicles.
Sunday’s alleged incident comes a year after two likely deer poaching incidents in Lyon County, one Nov. 6 near Roads 70 and X and one Nov. 16 near Roads 170 and T. Scheve says the 2022 cases are still open, but the trails have gone cold. New information will restart these investigations.
If you have information about any of these three cases, call Scheve at 620-431-9873.
