Five Emporia High wrestlers and six area wrestlers are preseason ranked in the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association’s preseason rankings released Tuesday.
On the girls side, three Lady Spartans are ranked. Senior Katina Keosybounheuang is ranked third at 120 in 6-5A and seventh in all classes. Senior Virginia Munoz is ranked sixth at 135 in 6-5A. Sophomore Alexa Castillo is ranked sixth at 235 in 6-5A and 10th in all classes.
On the boys side, freshman Gabe Wassom is ranked third at 106 in 5A and seventh in all classes. Senior Josiah Bradley is ranked fifth at 285 in 5A.
In 4-1A on the girls side, Chase County’s Kinzie Rogers is ranked fourth at 110.
In 3-2-1A on the boys side, Chase County’s Micah Cauthers is ranked third at 175 while Council Grove’s Jude Kormanik is fifth. Council Grove’s Ace Monihen is second at 190 and Holden Ziegler is fifth at 285. Burlingame’s Logan Courtois is ranked second at 113.
