Head coach Brian Ostermann announced his first freshman recruiting class as Emporia State women’s basketball coach on Thursday. The 2024 class is entirely made up of Kansans and includes:
Addie Kirmer, guard, Emporia – 1st Team All-Centennial League, 5A All-State Honorable Mention for the Lady Spartans last season, averaging 14 ppg and 5 rpg playing for former Lady Hornet Carolyn Dorsey.
Makenzie McDaniel, forward, Silver Lake – 1st Team 3A All-State, 1st Team All-Mid-East League after averaging 15 ppg and 10 rpg last season for the Eagles.
Emma Mitchell, forward, Rossville – 2nd Team All-Mid-East League, 3A All-State Honorable Mention after averaging 14 ppg and 6 rpg for the Bulldogs last year. Mitchell will join the program as a preferred walk-on.
Elizabeth Tjaden, guard, Clearwater – 1st Team All-AVCTL DIV, 4A All-State Honorable Mention after averaging 17 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 apg, and 3 spg for the Indians last season.
