Payne’s Promise is searching for families that need a little assistance for Thanksgiving.
Nominations for Payne’s Promise’s Thanksgiving Meals program will be accepted through Sunday.
Payne’s Promise spokesperson Joie Payne says her daughter, Kenzie, was so big on celebrating holidays and wanted to give back around Thanksgiving. Payne says the group reached out to its followers on Facebook to accept nominations for families in need for Thanksgiving.
Payne says she knows the generosity of the Emporia community will step up and help out this time of the year. This will be the fifth year the group has done the Thanksgiving Meals program.
Items that will be donated to the families for the meal will include turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, corn, salad, dressing, Hawaiian rolls, butter, pumpkin pie, and whipped topping.
To nominate a family, message Payne’s Promise on Facebook.
