Traffic on US Highway 50 just west of Emporia was halted briefly early Tuesday for what can best be described as a unique semi incident.
Police Officer Lane Doty says a semi driver was in the process of leaving the Flying J travel plaza when the trailer became detached from the power unit. The linchpin apparently didn’t hold for unspecified reasons.
Eastbound traffic was stopped while a tow truck could get to the scene and move the trailer.
Doty says the truck was bound for Phoenix and was carrying unspecified products from Tyson. Nobody was hurt in this incident.
