One of the longstanding local highlights of American Education Week is the annual cookie delivery across USD 253 Emporia, and that delivery drive was reserved for Wednesday morning.

One thousand five hundred chocolate chip cookies from Country Mart were brought to teachers, support staffers and administrators in every district school and building. Once again, KVOE had representatives of those buildings on air for short interviews highlighting different projects and initiatives.
The delivery has been a cooperative effort between the district, Emporia NEA and Emporia State Federal Credit Union for nearly 20 years.
