For those who cannot attend this evening’s Planning Commission meeting regarding Newman Regional Health’s proposed zoning code text changes, there is one place you will be able to view the proceedings.
KVOE will be streaming the meeting via Facebook Live. For those who cannot attend that are wishing to submit questions, those needed to be emailed to email emporiainfo@emporiaks.gov by 4 pm. People planning to attend and address the Planning Commission are asked to limit their comments to three minutes or less.
Stormont-Vail is planning a better than $30 million medical facility, prompting Newman Regional Health to propose several changes to the existing code. If recommended by the Planning Commission and approved later by the Emporia City Commission, the changes would require outside medical entities to specify the nature and extent of services to be provided, the extent of services already being provided and how current services are inadequate for community need.
The meeting is at 6 pm at White Auditorium Little Theatre, not the Municipal Court Room. Lyon County commissioners say they will be attending the meeting.
