Thanksgiving could not come at a more appropriate time. Our world is deeply divided making it easy to become depressed. So, today I’m sharing a couple of ideas to emphasize our opportunity to be thankful for our many blessings rather than stressing over our problems.
From the internet:
Once the table is set with your finest china, the turkey is out of the oven, and everyone is gathered around the table, there’s one last thing to do before you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal. Give thanks for the bounty and friends and family with these meaningful Thanksgiving prayers and blessings that embody what the holiday is truly about.
And last a simple prayer listed as a Child’s Mealtime Blessing, but one I’m thinking says it all.
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.
So simple yet so perfect I’ll repeat it to close.
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.
Amen
Have a blessed Thanksgiving, I’m Steve Sauder
