Six area basketball teams are preseason ranked in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association’s preseason rankings released Tuesday.
Coming off their second consecutive trip to state, the Emporia High girls are preseason ranked sixth in Class 5A.
Five area teams are ranked. The Lebo boys are ranked No. 1 in Class 1A-Division II, while the Lebo girls are ranked No. 2 in 1A-Division II. Both the Olpe boys and girls are preseason ranked in 1A-Division I. The Eagles are preseason ranked third while the girls are ranked sixth. The Lyndon boys are ranked ninth in Class 2A.
The high school basketball season begins with games tipping off next Friday.
