A reported increase in COVID-19 cases has prompted Morris County Hospital to resume masking for visitors and patients.
The hospital says face masks are required for staff in direct patient contact and for visitors coming to see inpatients. Masks are encouraged for all patients and visitors coming to the hospital for outpatient services.
Also, all visitors must self-screen for temperature readings and symptoms. Anybody with temperatures above 100.4 degrees will not be allowed entry.
Morris County Hospital becomes the first area hospital to take this step. It did not confirm data supporting the decision.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s online COVID-19 data tracker has not updated with new data past Veterans Day. That update indicates low COVID traffic as based on new hospital admissions rates for all area counties.
