Fog apparently played a role in an injury crash that happened just north of Emporia early Saturday evening.
A car collided with a pickup pulling a horse trailer in the 1800 block of Kansas Highway 99 just before 5:15 pm. Lyon County Sgt. Zach Shafer says the car, driven by 84-year-old James Gamer of Emporia, was northbound when Gamer went left of center and hit the pickup, driven by 27-year-old Sage Laumunyon of Alva, Oklahoma.
Gamer was taken to Newman Regional Health for evaluation and possible treatment. Laumunyon was not hurt. Neither were the horses he was transporting.
Deputies are investigating the crash.
