A second internet service provider serving part of the KVOE listening area has secured grant funding for broadband internet expansion.
KwiKom, which serves Osage County in its coverage area, is getting over $4.1 million as part of the state’s Lasting Infrastructure and Network Connectivity program, which offers “strategic” funding to reduce intenet costs, increase availablility and improve internet performance. KwiKom is submitting a matching amount of almost $740,000 to help connect over 500 locations.
The LINC awards follows the latest Broadband Acceleration Grant program for essential internet access across the state. IdeaTek got a nearly $880,000 grant with a nearly $1.9 million match for connecting almost 1,500 locations.
