Hello, I’m Bobbi Sauder, Steve’s wife for nearly 17 years. Over those years we’ve developed a wonderful partnership. Steve has asked me to help him here on his “Something to Think About” and I’m honored to oblige.
Here’s the explanation in Steve‘s words.
After nearly 40 years of talking on KVOE, my voice is letting me down. The main symptoms are shortness of breath and a noticeable loss of tone. It sounds like I have food in my mouth.
I was never in Ron or Chuck’s class, but as a former debater, I prided myself on being able to say things with emphasis in the right place and clearly pronouncing words. With my recent performances lacking those qualities I had two choices: Quit doing my “Something to Think About” or engage a ghost reader.
The Station was willing to read my “Something to Think About” but I came up with a better solution – ask Bobbi to become my tag team partner. She’s bailed me out several times in the past by stepping in for me when I was physically or emotionally unable and she was awesome. And, she has agreed to help.
A Pittsburg State graduate in nursing she earned her Masters from KU and taught at Washburn for a while before moving to Kansas City and becoming a School Nurse/Educator in the Blue Valley District for the 20 years before we met and married.
Heck! She’s way more qualified to share here than me.
So, let’s tag and switch to Bobbi for her thoughts.
I have always surrounded myself with women who became my mentors throughout my lifetime.
Here are some words of Wisdom I live by:
The circles of women
Around us weave
Invisible nets of love
That carry us
When we are weak
And sing with us when we are strong!
I’m Bobbi Sauder for Steve and me.
