Court proceedings will continue next year for the man accused of distributing a variety of drugs as part of a nearly month-long Emporia Police investigation.
20-year-old Caden Hunt had his first court appearance in Lyon County District Court Monday following his arrest last Tuesday. Hunt faces over 15 total counts in the case including five counts of distributing cocaine, two each of distributing LSD and marijuana, single counts of distributing cannabinoids and psilocybin, three counts of distributing drugs through the illegal use of communication devices and a single count of possessing drug paraphernalia.
Hunt was arrested last week after EPD officers purchased cocaine, LSD and marijuana from Hunt in early November. A search warrant was also served at the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity house, 1309 Sylvan, as part of the investigation leading to the discovery of additional narcotics and one firearm according to Emporia Police Captain Ray Mattas.
The fraternity dismissed Hunt following his arrest. Hunt’s next appearance will be for a pretrial hearing tentatively set for January 22, however, that date may be changed.
