Early this year, two adults — a Eureka woman and Topeka man — allegedly stole books and items from the former Cedar Point School. Now three teenagers are accused of taking items from the school in a separate incident.
The Chase County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on routine patrol noticed a suspicions vehicle at the school building shortly before 1 pm Saturday. Two unnamed juveniles and 19-year-old Kadyn Broughman, all of Wichita, were arrested and later booked on suspicion of two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and single counts of criminal trespass. Other details have not been announced.
Formal charges are pending.
This follows the burglary involving Eureka resident Kathryn Culbert and Topeka resident Jacobsen Eells in late January. Culbert accepted a diversion agreement, while Eells was sentenced to two years of probation.
