For decades, Flint Hills Technical College has held a nurse pinning ceremony and winter commencement separately. That’s changing.
Tech College President Caron Daugherty had the announcement on KVOE’s monthly Tech Talk on Tuesday:
Director of Nursing Anna Crabtree says the pinning ceremony is an important moment for students.
Daugherty says the college has seen a lower number of non-nursing students taking part in winter commencement, so the decision was made to have the pinning ceremony in December and the full commencement exercises in May.
The ceremony will be from 4-6 pm Friday at the Metcalf Building Conference Center, including a lamp-lighting event and a pledge.
