The 88th annual Seasonal Celebration through USD 253 Emporia begins Wednesday.
District Director of Community Relations Lyndel Landgren tells KVOE News the event’s longevity is a testament not only to the community but the individuals involved in putting it on year after year.
The Seasonal Celebration will take place at White Auditorium both Dec. 13-14 at 7 pm. Doors will open an hour before the performance begins on both nights.
This year, the suggested donation for adults goes from $3 to $5, although students and young children will be admitted free of charge. The event will have sign language interpreters as well as seating for the hearing impaired.
The annual dress rehearsal will take place Wednesday afternoon with flash photography welcome at that time. Flash photography will not be permitted during the actual performances.
Preparations for seasonal celebration comes as the fall semester is set to end next week.
While classrooms will be empty throughout the winter break, Landgren says there are still several construction projects ongoing at district schools through the Building for the Future Bond Initiative, some of which could be wrapped up over the break’s duration ahead of the spring semester.
