Tooth issues meant some tender loving care for Flint the mountain lion this week.
David Traylor Zoo Director Lisa Keith says an oral cleaning led to the need for root canals — not just one but two.
Keith says Flint was “grumpy” shortly after the procedure, but he has since recovered and is doing well.
Separately, Keith says three young cotton-top tamarins born earlier this fall are doing well. Keith says they are now starting to explore their enclosure and mimic their parents when it comes to eating.
The tamarins were born in October and have been unavailable for public viewing, just to give the monkeys time to bond comfortably.
