Emporia State quarterback Braden Gleason wraps up his Hornet career finishing seventh in the voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy. The award is referred to as the NCAA Division II Heisman and is presented to the best collegiate football player in the division. Gleason was a unanimous First Team All-MIAA pick and led the nation in completion percentage while ranking second in touchdown passes, total offense, and points responsible for. Gleason is the fifth Hornet to be named a finalist for the award and the first since quarterback Braxton Marstall in 2018. He led the Hornets to a 9-3 record and a victory in the 2023 Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl. Central Missouri quarterback Zach Zembrowski won the Harlon Hill and was the first MIAA winner of the trophy since UCM signal-caller Eric Czerniewski claimed the award in 2010.
