Formal charges are pending against a Wabaunsee High School wrestling coach accused of inappropriate activity with minors.
Wabaunsee County deputies say Monday’s arrest of Alma resident Tyler Douglass followed “multiple allegations of offenses against minors” received Monday, so deputies responded to the USD 329 district office in Alma. Deputies say Douglass was arrested on suspicion of contributing to a child’s misconduct and furnishing alcohol to minors after evidence they collected at the scene. Douglass was taken to the Wabaunsee County Jail without incident.
Douglass had been coaching wrestling at Wabaunsee High since December 2021. He is not listed on the district’s staff roster as of Tuesday morning.
Wabaunsee County deputies say this is an “ongoing multi-agency investigation.” Residents with information are asked to call the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office at 785-765-3323.
