An Emporia man accused of attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping and other charges will be back in court next month.
Travis Wade Westcott, age 42, was arrested last week on suspicion of aggravated witness intimidation, violating a protection order and violating bond conditions. His next hearing is Jan. 17.
Westcott was charged this past spring with 15 counts, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated witness intimidation, stalking and criminal threat. Prosecutors expanded the complaint to 25 total counts this past summer. He’s accused of trying to kill a woman in October 2022, but he’s also accused of battery, criminal threat and stalking as connected to several alleged incidents between January 2020 and this past May.
