Emporia State men’s and women’s disc golf will start 2024 inside the top five of the College Disc Golf Power Rankings. Cincinnati is ranked first with Oklahoma Christian, the Hornets, North Carolina Charlotte and Illinois State rounding out the top five. In the women’s rankings, Missouri is first followed by Liberty and NC State. The Lady Hornets are ranked fourth with Brigham Young fifth. The Hornet D1 and D2 teams went 1-2 in their final two matches of the fall semester. The ESU women won all three of their fall tournaments. Four Hornet men are ranked in the individual Top 50 rankings with Grant Yoder ranked 24th and Justin Farrell 25th. The E-State women have three in the individual Top 50 with Atlanta Krueger ninth, Maya Ringgold 13th, and Rebeka Thompson 25th.
The Hornets begin action for the spring semester on February 10 with the D1 men heading to the Southwest Shootout in Mesa, AZ hosted by Arizona State while the women and D2 men will play in an in-state event in Newton.
