Emporia State quarterback Braden Gleason and junior wide receiver Tyler Kahmann have been named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 team. The list is selected by the website with input from coaches, scouts, media, and sports information directors from around the country. Gleason wrapped up his career holding MIAA records in career touchdown passes and is the ESU career leader in passing yards, total offense, and completion percentage. Gleason departed as one of just two active players across any level of NCAA football with over 11,000 career passing yards and over 1,000 passing yards. Kahmann was previously named Second Team All-American by the Associated Press and Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association and led the nation in touchdown receptions this year with an ESU record 20 scores. He was the only player at any level of NCAA football with over 100 receptions, 1000 yards, and at least 20 receiving touchdowns this year. He is the ESU career touchdown reception leader with 34. The Hornets finished 9-3 in 2023 and won the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl in their third-straight trip to the postseason. Kahmann is set to return with nine other starters who started in the bowl win along with seven returning defensive starters.
