Nobody was hurt when a tractor caught fire in north Lyon County on Friday.
Allen-Admire Fire and Lyon County deputies responded to the 1200 block of Road 310, about 13 miles due north of Emporia, about four miles southwest of Admire and five miles southeast of Allen. Allen-Admire Fire Chief Tharon Mott says the unnamed driver was hauling a hay bale but noticed the bale was smoking around 10:30 am. She left the tractor and found the whole underside of the vehicle was on fire.
The driver called 911. Allen-Admire crews got the fire out quickly, but the tractor was destroyed.
No cause was determined.
